What To Expect: Fabricator Job

This is where it all begins. We develop the new concepts that go on to become new Jaguars and Land Rovers. So, the emphasis is on building strong strategic, technical and financial foundations right from the start. Technology Development is responsible for designing and manufacturing test rigs and components for a wide range of vehicle, sub-system and component testing. We are looking for a fabricator that must have top class proven welding skills in Mig , Tig & Gas with ability to teach others. Must be able to liaise with Engineers & advise on the best methods to solve engineering problems. Welding of various materials, from thin-walled exhaust to 25mm Plate.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities: Fabricator Job

• The fabricator role is an on-the-job pro-active role.
• Carry out general machine/workshop activities such as completing FMS job cards.
• Use a variety of equipment to deliver parts, fixtures, machined components from engineering drawings for our customer base.

What You’ll Need Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Safety and environmental.

• Abide by all health and safety regulations
• Ensure the correct Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used for the correct task
• Carry out TPM on tools and equipment in your area of responsibility
• Ensure workstations and rest areas are kept clean and tidy.
• Assist leadership team with maintaining stock levels of consumables and COSHH in the area. (IE Gas)
• Assist HAVS testing of tools, Risk Assessments & Waste Walks

Quality. Fabricator Job

• Assist the Workshop Supervisor to drive continuous quality improvements
• Respond to quality concerns promptly, with a strong customer focus.
• Complete work accurately to engineering drawings and own designs when appropriate
• Check quality prior to delivery to customers.
• Liaise with Designers/Project Leaders to ensure instructions/information is up to date.
• Ability to use precision tools to take accurate measurements (EG Micrometers)

Volume / Deliverables. Fabricator Job

• Assist the Workshop Supervisor in driving continuous improvements.
• Fabricate/weld/create fixtures from Engineering drawings provided by customers our design team
• General Fabrication
• Use of Pillar Drills, Bandsaw, guillotine, etc
• Respond to tasks and all requests within your pay grade structure.
• Maintain safe working practises and help others to do so
• Actively work to reduce non-value added tasks and waste.
• Look at ways of reducing delivery time and waiting time.
